Traditional tea house related with Toyotomi Hideyoshi

This tea house is named after Kinoshita Choshoshi, a nephew of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s wife Nene. It is said that he retreated in Ryozen, Kyoto Higashiyama after the Battle of Sekigahara and wrote poems in this tea house.

Our staff member guides you to the tea house and then explains the Tea Ceremony Experience.

② Explanation on Japanese tea ceremony and traditional Japanese garden

The history of Japanese tea ceremony is explained on the theme of Toyotomi Hideyoshi who had a connection to our Japanese garden and Sen no Rikyu who promulgated Japanese tea ceremony.

③ Master's demonstration and matcha preparation experience

Tea master demonstrates the art of tea preparation in a traditional manner.Enjoy the tranquillity and the beauty of Japanese garden while observing the master’s preparation.You will learn how to prepare a bowl of matcha. Tips about preparing delicious matcha at home will be provided.

④ Taste a bowl of matcha

Enjoy traditional Japanese fresh sweets and the taste of carefully selected matcha powder.

Yes, you can if you pay the fee also for your child. If you wish to join a lesson with a child aged 6 or younger, please book a private lesson.

The group lesson fee is 4,960 yen per person.

Can I change the time of or cancel my booking?
